Hatha Yoga

Welcome to Life of Lessons Yoga postures.

We practise and teach Hatha Yoga in our classes. This means we hold each posture and use the breath to work deeper into the posture. Hatha Yoga is a beautiful practice to connect deeply with one’s own body. It can be practised by anyone, of any age, with any disability anywhere at any time. Yoga supports building:

  • Stamina
  • Strength
  • Flexibility
  • Releases tension
  • Aids digestion
  • Supports drainage of the lymphatic system
  • Builds muscle
  • Aids weight loss
  • Improves posture
  • Improves sleep
  • Decreases stress levels
  • Increases mood and endorphins

In Sanskrit ‘ha’ means sun and ‘tha’ means moon. These represent the divine masculine and feminine energies, which are finely balanced within us all. Hatha yoga is about brining balance back into the body. The literal translation of Hatha is ‘force’, alluding to the physical techniques used by this form of yoga.

Due to the current pandemic, many people including us have suffered mentally, physically and emotionally, with stress levels mounting and the body and mind feeling lethargic and low in energy. Life of Lessons is currently offering specialist sessions: Yoga for improved sleep, Yoga for stress reduction and Yoga for relaxation. If you are interested in these private zoom sessions, please get in contact at: lifeoflessons@hotmail.com or book via the online booking portal.
